Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Partner will be a key member of the team who serve as brand ambassadors in attracting outstanding, mission-driven, and diverse talent to the IU Foundation and Indiana University advancement community. The IUF Talent Acquisition team is the first point of contact for potential candidates to engage with the Foundation, and this role is responsible for the full cycle recruitment of all talent. In addition, this role plays a key part in collaborating across the full Human Resources & Culture team by supporting other areas through the talent lens.

 

Some of the day-to-day activities for the Talent Acquisition Partner include leveraging both IU and IUF’s respective Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), as well as LinkedIn Recruiter to cultivate and track relationships with prospective candidates and current talent pools. By using strategic recruiting practices and employment campaigns, the partner helps ensure that the organization is attracting top talent while providing best-in-class candidate and hiring manager experience. The Talent Acquisition partner may also manage a coordinator(s) and/or manage programs and projects for the Human Resources and Culture team.

 

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Attracting, engaging, and hiring the best talent to the IU Foundation by:

  • Partnering closely and working effectively with hiring managers and key stakeholders to identify needs, create talent profiles, and craft job advertisements.
  • Creating and executing recruitment plans that will lead to qualify staffing.
  • Writing compelling/information job ads which accurately reflect the needs of the position and the opportunity to be part of IU Advancement.
  • Training and educating interviewers and hiring committees on inclusive and effective interviewing.
  • Seeking out talent candidates to fill open positions through proactive and innovative sourcing.
  • Developing and nurturing candidate pipelines for each key role, keeping regular contact with pools of sourced candidates to fill future requisitions with highly qualified individuals.
  • Reading and understanding a variety of job descriptions; informing candidates of job duties, responsibilities, work schedules, and total rewards package.
  • Articulating the benefits of joining the organization and sharing compelling reasons to consider taking a role.
  • Creating an employee and candidate experience that makes the IU Foundation and the Development function at IU an industry leading employer of choice.
  • Utilizing various assessment tools (such as Predictive Index) to determine candidate alignment to job openings.
  • Aiding in the scheduling and facilitation of purposeful and effective interviews.
  • Discussing candidate selection with hiring leaders to influence employment decisions.
  • Performing reference checks to assess and screen potential employees.
  • Participating in salary offer recommendations based on candidate qualifications and job requirements. Assisting with the negotiation of offers alongside hiring managers to ensure acceptance of offers made to chosen candidates.

 

Partnering on various projects with the Human Resources & Culture team including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring key metrics reflecting Talent Acquisition activities are measured and reported.
  • Creating relevant training materials within the Learning Management System (LMS) related to hiring manager or interview panelist best practices.

 

Candidate Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is required. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR preferred.
  • Three years of recruitment experience, including at least two years of full-cycle recruitment, is required. A combination of related education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience executing on a variety of sourcing techniques, with strong relationship building abilities is required.
  • People leadership experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and sound hiring practices.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating, developing, and enhancing professional relationships and candidate relationships.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to work with many stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Ability to appropriately articulate the mission and vision of Indiana University and the IU Foundation to attract potential candidates.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects and searches simultaneously.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
