Following a national search in partnership with The Batten Group, the V Foundation has appointed Lauren Hall as the Chief Development Officer.

A non-profit executive with more than 20 years of experience at high-impact institutions – including Harvard University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the University of Pennsylvania, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Lauren has served as a frontline fundraiser for three multi-billion-dollar campaigns.

Throughout her career, Lauren has secured transformative funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations, built and managed boards and committees, and led highly successful fundraising teams. Prior to joining the V Foundation, she served as the Chief Strategy and Development Officer at the National Brain Tumor Society, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction and led the Development team to achieve exponential revenue growth in support of critical research and programmatic priorities.

Lauren holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive through CFRE International. Her volunteer service includes the Women’s Foundation of Boston, the Penn Alumni Interview Program, and the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, where she was named Big Sister of the Year in 2019.

About the V Foundation

Jim Valvano was a very successful basketball coach, a national champion. But as great a coach as he was, his legend was born from the kind of human he was. Caring. Emotional. Funny. Passionate. Legendary. Jim Valvano turned his own cancer journey into a legacy that is saving lives decades after his passing.

While cancer ultimately took his life, Jim remained focused on helping others. In his last months, he teamed up with ESPN to form The V Foundation for Cancer Research. To date, the V Foundation has granted over $310 million to cancer research. As Jim said, “cancer research may not save my life, it may save my children’s lives. It may save someone you love.”

And it has, with 3.5 million fewer cancer deaths in the past 30 years. But there is more work to do. Cancer is still the second-leading cause of death. We continue to “need money for research” to accelerate Victory Over Cancer®

Jim never stopped coaching all of us. “Don’t give up, don’t ever give up” was one of Jim’s final instructions to the world.

And the V Foundation never has. And never will.
